The Big Present

It’s always when you need to be somewhere on time that it goes horribly wrong.

My normal one hour journey home took two and a half hours due to a horse box scattered all over the motorway. The plan to do The Big Present at Martin’s before we all left for Anne’s fell through and I had what felt like 5 minutes to change, carry The Big Present to Martin’s, walk to the shops, get some flowers for Anne and then walk up to her house.

Sitting out we ate pizza, drank a little champagne and gave presents. Later, with Paul back from a trip to Prague, we listened to Miles Davies, plotted trips to listen to jazz musicians and relaxed after a very long week.
