He was called The Fifth Beatle. He was the only person to have his name included in the label credits of “Let It Be” and “Abbey Road” albums as well as the landmark “White Album”. His splashy organ playing was featured on “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and he played Sgt. Pepper in the film.
As a writer of music he penned “You are So Beautiful” and a host of other songs. Miles Davis named a tune after him.
Billy Preston was a seminal musician of the 60’s and 70’s.
