Queues

I had to return something which I'd bought from Ebay today. This used to mean a leisurely walk down the road to Mr Singh's but now, alas, that is no more. Instead I had to drive into town (OK I could have walked but I was on a tight schedule), park, and then queue in the main Post Office. I couldn't beleive the number of people there to do all sorts of things from pick up benefit to get a child's passport.

Perhaps it's more cost effective to have everyone in one place but it takes more time, is a lot less impersonal and a lot more hassle.

I miss the days of Mr Singh's, of Smokey the cat and wandering back up the road with a bag of winegums.
